The eclectic collection of varied choral works spans four centuries of composition. Included are stirring madrigals, stunning sacred arrangements, classical and contemporary pieces.
The Oriana Ladies' and Men's ensembles will present featured works, both accompanied and a’capella and the Oriana Youth Choir will also perform. Special guest artist is harpist and former Ten Tenor, Kim Kirkman.
The last time Oriana competed at the Queensland Eisteddfod they were awarded the Champion title, scoring an incredible 40 out of 42 in the aggregate, winning 7 out of the 9 competitions entered. 2012 saw the choir preparing for their remarkable international campaign in Wales, where they placed 2nd in the Mixed Choirs section.
The choir are excited to return to the State competition and are preparing an outstanding repertoire which Sunshine Coast audiences will be among the first to hear at this spectacular showcase concert, before the choir travels to Rockhampton for the Easter weekend Eisteddfod.
