Lior burst on to the Australian music scene in 2005 with his stunning debut album – ‘Autumn Flow’. Recorded and released entirely independently, the album became one of the most successful independent debuts in Australian music history.
A swag of accolades followed, amongst them three ARIA nominations including ‘Best Male Artist’, as well as a nomination for Triple J’s Australian Album of the Year.
Lior has since gone on to become one of the most successful and loved Australian singer songwriters, releasing a further five albums, winning two ARIA awards and covering a wide range of touring both in Australia and abroad, from solo performances to tours with the major state orchestras.
Alongside his career as an artist, Lior has also enjoyed a broad range of success as a songwriter and composer. In 2013, Lior co-created the critically acclaimed orchestral song cycle ‘Compassion’ with Nigel Westlake, winning an ARIA award in Australia as well as having its premiere in the US where it won the Austin Critics’ Award for ‘Best Symphonic Performance of 2015’.
In 2012, Lior won an APRA award for ‘Best Song Composed for the Screen’ for his song ‘Hey Hootabelle’ which he composed for the ABC Kids show ‘Giggle and Hoot’. This followed on from his hugely popular song ‘Hoot’s Lullaby’ which closes the show nightly.
In 2016 Lior co-wrote the score to the award winning theatre show ‘The Wider Earth’ for which he won a Matilda Award for‘Best Original Theatre Score’.
In April 2015, Lior was invited to be the sole Australian performer at the prestigious 100 year anniversary of the landing at Gallipoli, performing his song ‘Safety of Distance’. The song also features an original choral introduction composed by Lior and Nigel Westlake and performed by the Gallipoli Choir.BUY TICKETS
