Introducing the controversial show that made international headlines during this year’s Melbourne International Comedy Festival.
‘On The Spectrum’ is a heart warming and rather hilarious insight into the generalizations of spectrum traits, therapists, the NDIS, Coles Quiet Hour and inherited traits!
Nikki is an adequate mother, writer, comedy panel show regular (CRAM ch10, BEHAVE YOURSELF ch7), actress (Delvene Delaney in HOGES ch7), series regular in the comedy sketch show KINNE (ch7 and FB), and TV host (QUIZMANIA, Ch9).
The show attracted international headlines and front pages of local papers primarily driven by extremely vocal critics from a small section of the autism community which lobbied venues and local government… before the show and its content had even been performed.
The Mayor adressed the critics and… The show went on.
The SOLD OUT premiere of ‘On The Spectrum’ was overwhelmingly well received by parents, carers, specialists, grandparents and people with autism.
Nikki, being a mother to a child with autism, is also a campaigner for awareness with her sentiment being ‘it’s not just okay to be different, it’s refreshing’.
So book a sitter, have a drink and have a laugh. You’ve earned it.
